In a new Descript project, create a new AI speaker by adding an '@' to your script and inputting a speaker name. Click the name and under the speaker settings select Enable speech generation. You'll then be prompted to clone your voice by reading a short script.
Follow the prompt to start recording yourself reading the script. If you want to record a collaborator's voice, you can upload a recording of them reading that same script. Ensure the recording is clear and free of background noise for the best results. When Descript is finished processing your voice sample, your clone will be ready to use.
Once the voice clone has been created, write a script or use AI to generate one, and assign it to your newly created voice clone. The text will begin to flash, indicating it's being converted into speech. Once it's done, you can hit play to hear your voice clone reading your script in your voice.
