In a new Descript project, paste in or write out your product video script. Pressing CTRL/CMD+K pulls up the actions menu where you can use the Write a script AI action to generate a first draft. Just share some context about your product, audience and the type of video you’re creating. Then refine the result with feedback and add it to your script.
Highlight your script or specific scenes, and click Record > Replace selection to record your camera, mic, and/or screen over your script with a new transcription synced to the timeline. You can also generate an AI voiceover by using ‘@’ to assign an AI voice to text. Editing your transcript lets you edit your video to delete bad takes and filler words, or rearrange sections.
Add a ‘/’ to create scenes within your script to add elements and transitions to specific words or scenes without fiddling around in the timeline. Add text, music, and sounds as needed, or select individual layers and use the properties panel to make detailed edits. When you’re done, click Publish to export your product video, generate an embed code for your website, or upload it directly to a supported platform like YouTube or Wistia.
