Create software demos, tutorial videos, presentations, and more with Descript’s online screen recorder. Designed to simplify screen recording, Descript eliminates the need for extensive post-production. From editing out awkward pauses to getting a transcript for your screen recordings, all you need to do is click a button.
Get started ->To record your screen, click Start recording in a Descript project to add your screen recording as a new layer, or open the quick recorder with the CTRL/CMD+Shift+2 shortcut. Choose what to include in your screen recording: your camera, mic, system audio, and/or part or all of your display screen. Click the gear icon to further customize settings like countdown timers, transcription language, resolution, and more.
While screen recording, Descript will capture everything on your screen including your mouse. If you included them in the recording, your camera, microphone, and system audio will also be captured as separate layers so you can edit or remove them individually after. Press the Stop recording button when you’re done recording.
Once you’re done screen recording, Descript will generate a transcript you can trim and cut to edit your video, or right click to remove filler words and pauses. You can move, add, or edit elements and layers using the canvas. When you’re done editing, press Publish to download your screen recording, or generate an embed code or video link to embed it on your website or share it with your team.
Record your screen, camera, mic, and audio
Record your screen and other audio and video inputs in any combination. Descript records them all as separate tracks for easier editing. For example, you can record your voice, camera, and screen, then remove the camera layer after to ensure your entire screen is visible for a video tutorial.
Edit screen recordings as easily as text
Descript automatically transcribes your screen recordings and helps you eliminate awkward pauses and filler words with the press of a button. That means no more starting over from scratch if you fumble your delivery. Just keep going and delete that part in the transcript after.
